Our Orchard
Avocado Heaven is in Tapora, which is situated on the Okahukura Peninsula and surrounded by the spectacular Kaipara Harbour. The 320-hectare orchard was established by Tony and Val Gibbs in 2014 and is currently under development. In 2020, the family and orchard team were proud to produce a fantastic crop of Hass avocados for New Zealand. The fruit is harvested from May-October.

At Avocado Heaven, we rely on a large number of seasonal workers to help us pick our fruit during harvest from May-August each year.
The work is physically demanding and so you need to be fit. Accommodation and camping sites are available.
